PixelPipe On Nokia Share Online Rocks!

If you like uploading your photos and videos online before you even get home, you need to check out Pixelpipe. I’ve talked about Shozu and Mobypictures before, but Pixelpipe really stands out as the winner. Not only does it work with Nokia’s own Share Online, but the also provide a lot of places you can simultaneously upload to. Now there’s no reason for me NOT to upload to Ovi Share.

Usage

To setup: Go to pixelpipe.com/nokia from your handset to get your Share Online client configured.
To use: In the Gallery with a photo selected (or mark multiple) choose ‘Options>Send>Post to web’. You can also select the ‘Post to…’ icon to upload immediately after taking a photo.

Pipes or Destinations

You can choose from a lot of services you can upload your photos and videos. Take a look at this screenshot below.

Routing tags. Another cool thing about Pixelpipe is the use of on-demand filters. For example, if you signed up for 10 destinations, you can still upload a photo to certain services at specific momenst. You can set a ‘routing tag’ for each service and simply type these tags on the title before you you upload. If I want to upload my photo to Facebook and Flicker only, I’ll type “@fb @fl Photo Title Here,” so it will only upload to those two instead of all default destinations.

Thoughts

Pixelpipe is really a must-have for anyone with Nokia device. Since it is patched with Share Online, there’s no need to install third-party apps that runs in the background like Shozu.

Pixelpipe is also similar to Mobypictures that I previously liked, but it proves to be a lot better. The amount of destinations is a lot more to choose from. I can’t think of any negative things about Pixelpipe. You should go ahead and set it up on your phone!

HTC Touch Pro2 priced: it will retail for about $880

You may already know that the new HTC Touch Pro2 will be available for purchase starting this summer – after all, HTC said so when it officially announced the smartphone (at the same time with the Touch Diamond2).

What HTC didn’t say about the Touch Pro2 is what price it will have.

Today, however, the Taiwanese handset maker unveiled this tiny detail too.

In Singapore, HTC Touch Pro2 will retail for $1,328 SGD, meaning about $880 or €670. So we should expect the handset to have a similar retail price in the other markets where it will be released (including Europe and North America).

Singaporean customers will be able to buy the Touch Pro2 starting late June, and that’s about the time when the handset should become available in other countries too.

HTC also mentioned the Touch Diamond2 will be available in Singapore starting mid-May, for 1,088 SGD ($725 or €550).

Samsung Instinct S30 only $50 at Best Buy?

This is just a rumor at the moment, but if a newly-leaked Best Buy flyer is correct, then Sprint’s Samsung Instinct S30 will be on sale via the giant retailer for as low as $49.99 (when bought with a 2-yr contract agreement).

Of course, the Instinct S30 is not yet available from Sprint, but it should be starting April 19.

The weird thing is that Samsung and Sprint said the new handset would be offered for $129.99 on contract, which means Best Buy is ready to sell the S30 for $80 less.

Of course, the date when the retailer will launch the phone is not known yet, so the cheap pricing may be scheduled for a date when Sprint would also offer the S30 for only $49.99.

Motorola QA4 Evoke now available from Alltel

Our old acquaintance, Motorola QA4 Evoke (previously known as Motorola QA4 Halo) is now available for purchase in the US – probably earlier than most customers had expected.

We’ve covered the features of Motorola Evoke a few times until now, but, just in case you missed them, they include a 2.8 inch touchscreen display with 240 x 400 pixels, virtual QWERTY keyboard, hardware alphanumeric keypad, EVDO Rev A connectivity, A-GPS, integrated social networking capabilities, 2MP camera and expandable memory.

The QA4 also allows you to personalize its home screen with widgets, for easy access to news, stocks, weather and traffic info.

Motorola Evoke QA4 is currently sold only via Alltel. In this press release, the carrier says the handset is available for $79.99 with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate. However, on Alltel’s website, the QA4 shows up for $99.99 on contract.

Nokia Messaging by Orange announced

Orange, one of the world’s largest mobile carriers, has signed a new agreement with Nokia in order to provide its customers with an easy-to-use mobile email service.

Called Nokia Messaging by Orange, the new service is part of a three-year partnership announced by the two giant companies earlier this year.

It will be available on select Orange Signature handsets, including Nokia phones like the E75, allowing users to quickly access up to 10 personal email accounts directly from the Orange homescreen.

Nokia Messaging by Orange will be launched during 2009 in several major markets where Orange operates (UK, France and Spain). Pricing and further details will be announced locally.

LG SV710 Suit is a mid-range business phone

LG is out with a new clamshell called SV710 Suit. As you can guess for yourself, this device is made for business folks who should appreciate the built in expense and travel reporting apps, as well as five games for those hours when they’re out, relaxing rather than working. Furthermore, the 14.7mm-thick phone also packs a 3 megapixel camera that can take both photos and videos, LED clock on the front of the device, Bluetooth, and we guess the HSDPA connectivity. Interested (business) users will have to pour out somewhere between 400,000 and 500,000 won (about $300 to $375) in order to grab this baby — that’s in Korean only, at this stage.

A gold disc for inFAMOUS! We got the news late yesterday (just in time for the team to run off and tip a few back!) and I’m not sure it’s really sank in for me yet. But it’s official, and somewhere I hope they’re stamping out your copy of inFAMOUS right as you read this! It’s a tradition here to bust out old builds and videos of the game and laugh at ourselves for how *crappy* the game was 2 years ago. It’s a strange combination of humiliation at how we ever showed those builds to people, appreciation to Sony for believing in us even when the game was so provably terrible, and sense of accomplishment at how far we were able to come, especially in the last 6-12 months. Plus it’s just plain hilarious to see some of our really BAD ideas on-screen. But that’s the journey of making video games. We’re proud of what we accomplished getting to here, but the point of it all was to make something for you guys to enjoy — and we’re hopeful that you will drop us a note and let us know what you think after you’ve beaten the game!
